Accessibility
Built for everyone in the basin.
Desert Glass should work for you whatever your eyes, ears, hands, device or connection. We work toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.
What's built in
Eight color themes
Light and dark versions of four palettes. Your choice follows you across every Desert Glass site, including the Library.
Reduced motion
If your device asks for less motion, menu animations, the scrolling status bar and gameplay previews stop.
Keyboard friendly
Every menu facet, button and link can be reached with Tab and shows a visible focus ring.
Tooltips you control
Press Shift to hide or show menu tooltips at any time.
Light on slow connections
Pages are small and the Library is served locally, so things load fast on rural connections.
Screen reader labels
Icon buttons and the gem menu carry text labels for assistive technology.
Known gaps
Some of what we host comes from other projects. Library collections and arcade games keep their original designs, and some of them don't fully meet the same standard. If one of them gets in your way, tell us and we'll look for a fix or an alternative.
